6517481_origIt’s that time of year again, so come join the residents of Huntington Harbor at the 54th annual Christmas Boat Parade! If you love boat parades you are in luck because there will be two nights of them on December 10th and 11th.

8673278_origThe reason behind doing this boat parade is for entertainment, a good time, and to raise money, and to thank the residents of Huntington Harbor for decorating. You will see some of the most creative, and outstanding decorations on these boats. In the past, they have had boats with all lit up Christmas trees on the top bridges, angel wings in all white lights, under the sea theme with jellyfish, and a beach theme with dolphins and palm trees.

Right after the two nights of parades, they start the Cruise of Lights which is a 45 minute narrated boat tour to see all the lights in the harbor on decks, balconies, docks, homes, and lawns. All the money that is raised goes towards supporting the music programs of more than 160,000 children in Orange County schools. For more information, visit http://www.cruiseoflights.org.

The boats line up at 4:30 pm and the parade starts at 5:15 pm. You will be able to see them in all the channels. Check the parade route for best viewing spots.

Enjoy, have fun, and be safe!
Happy Holidays!
