dt-socalBalboa Island is as California as it gets. It has a rich history worth learning and exploring, starting with a visit to the Balboa Island Museum. Founded in 2000, it turned the island’s old fire station into a museum that shares interesting facts about this gorgeous island with locals and visitors.

The museum offers free tours to view its photographs and memorabilia from over 100 years- worth of history, starting with the Native American tribes and Spanish explorers along the Santa Ana River. They also offer a Balboa Island Walking Tour. It is a two-hour historical tour exploring the island’s unique history. Walk the island and hear stories from the people and the places that make the island unique.
